Bone Structure

The human skeleton consists of more than 200 bones (206 named). These can be divided into two categories; axial skeleton and appendicular skeleton. The axial skeleton includes the bones of the head, of the vertebral column, and the breastbone (sternum). The appendicular skeleton refers to all the extremities, upper and lower.
